Crocheted Gifts - One copy to be given away

I recently received a signed copy of Crocheted Gifts as a prize for donating to pancreatic cancer research so I thought I'd give away the copy I'd received for review to one of our loyal readers.

At the end of October, I'll export out a listing of all registered and activated users at Crochet Uncut (not blog accounts) and use a random number generator to pick a winner. So, if you'd like to be entered into the giveaway, make sure you have registered at the magazine and that you have activated your account. You should have received an e-mail with an activation link. You might want to check your spam/junk folder to see if the e-mail got tossed there.

If you can't find the e-mail and you can't log in to the site, use the Contact Us link on the site and give me your userid and e-mail address and I'll manually activate the account.

Deadline for registration: October 31, 2009
Who is eligible: Registered and activated users on crochetuncut.com

Once I draw a name, I'll contact the winner for an address where the book can be sent to.

This is a very nice book with great patterns (see review in our Fall 2009 issue).

Benefit for Prune Belly

It's been a while since I posted anything here but I feel that this is something important enough for me to get off my duff and post about. TinkerAndPo was looking for folks to donate items for a benefit auction for Prune Belly, a devastating illness that kills 20% of infants before they are born and 30% within two years due to kidney problems.

I decided to donate a 5"x7" painting that I'm currently working on. It's a smaller version of one I finished earlier in the month, Mountain Stream.

Mountain Stream

Read about Prune Belly and the benefit at Prune Belly Syndrome. If you can't afford to bid on items in the auction, please consider making a small donation on the site. Every little bit helps.

I've recently donated to diabetes research and pancreatic cancer research but since I'm not always able to donate money to more causes (even if I'd like to), being able to donate an item to auction off is just one way I can help.

CU on Getting Loopy Podcast

I'll be on the Getting Loopy podcast on 4/20/09 discussing Crochet Uncut and whatever else comes up. Hope to see a bunch of folks there in chat!

Special 2010 Issues - Get Designing!!

I'm planning on two special issues next year so that gives you plenty of time to design and test patterns!

Kid's Issue Spring 2009 - Projects could include clothing of all types, toys, crib items, blankies, purses, hair items, belts, jewelry. I’d like to cover more than just baby items, such as items for toddlers and older kids.

Wedding Issue Summer 2010 - Possible designs include veils, tiaras, veils, dresses, jewelry, hair bands, garters, stockings, ring bearer pillows, shoes, decor, lingerie, etc. I'm expecting some exquisite designs!

Current Rankings

We're down a little but that's to be expected after two months since the last issue, but with the next issue coming out, that should change again.
